Lead Platform Engineer

At JouwWeb and Webador, we make entrepreneurship accessible to everyone. As a Lead Platform Engineer, you design and operate a platform that scales smoothly. You will lead our platform and infrastructure area, work closely with our CTO and set the direction that lets us grow without friction.

You have the autonomy to build solutions that work. You favor simplicity and maintainability, keep overhead low and help teams ship fast and safely. You experiment, measure and scale what works. Your work has a direct impact on our customers and our international ambitions.

What will you be doing?

We are a small team with a big mission, and our work is both challenging and varied. For example, you will be working on:

• Architecture and scale: design a growth-ready platform that handles traffic and customer doubles with ease.

• Operations and reliability: own Google Cloud, continuously improve uptime, backups, disaster recovery, observability and CI/CD.

• Cost efficiency: optimize cloud spend per customer through smart architectural choices.

• Security: reduce risk with hardening, clear playbooks and prepared response scenarios.

• Leadership: making strategic choices to take both our infrastructure and our team to the next level.

• Pragmatic choices: use technology because it works for us. No complexity for complexity’s sake.

• Cloud and hosting: Google Cloud Platform, Docker Swarm, HAProxy, Terraform, Ansible, Kamal

• Application and data: PHP, MySQL Cloud SQL, Redis Memory Store

• CI/CD and monitoring: CircleCI, Datadog, Better Stack

• Mail and CDN: Dovecot, Postfix, Rspamd, Fastly
  

What we offer

• Salary € 5,250 to € 6,750 per month based on 40 hours, plus bonus plan.

• Learning and development budget 5% of your annual salary.

• Hybrid setup: shared Friday Development Day at Strijp-S in Eindhoven. Otherwise choose where you work best.

Who you are

• Bachelor’s or Master’s level and 5+ years in a comparable platform, infra or SRE role.

• Hands-on owner, strong in Linux, virtualization and reliability.

• Pragmatic and simplicity first. You prefer maintainable over complex solutions.

• Willing to jump in during incidents and help formalize on call.

• 32 to 40 hours per week.
