Senior DevOps Engineer

At JouwWeb (and Webador), we believe that entrepreneurship should be accessible to everyone. In this role, you work at the intersection of DevOps, Platform Engineering, and Site Reliability Engineering. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you work on an infrastructure that is simple, scalable, and reliable, enabling us to grow smoothly without disruption. You work closely with our CTO and another platform engineer, actively contribute to architectural decisions, and help shape the technical direction that allows us to grow 2x, 3x, or even 4x.

You design, manage, and continuously improve our Google Cloud environment, ensuring that performance, costs, and security remain well balanced. You help set up and improve CI/CD practices and choose maintainable solutions: simple where possible, robust where necessary. We keep overhead low: few meetings, lots of focus. You experiment, measure what works, and scale successful solutions further together with the team. In doing so, you enable our product teams to deliver impact quickly and safely to 300,000+ customers, and that number is growing rapidly.

What will you be doing?

We are a small team with a big mission, and our work is both challenging and varied. For example, you will be working on:

• Architecture and scale: design a growth-ready platform that handles traffic and customer doubles with ease.

• Operations and reliability: own Google Cloud, continuously improve uptime, backups, disaster recovery, observability and CI/CD.

• FinOps: optimize cloud spend per customer through smart architectural choices.

• Security: reduce risk with hardening, clear playbooks and prepared response scenarios.

• Leadership: making strategic choices to take both our infrastructure and our team to the next level.

• Pragmatic choices: use technology because it works for us. No complexity for complexity’s sake.

Our Tech Stack

You don’t need to be proficient in everything in our stack. What matters more to us is that you understand why we make these choices and that you enjoy further deepening your knowledge of new tooling.

• Cloud and hosting: Google Cloud Platform, Docker Swarm, HAProxy, Terraform, Ansible, Kamal

• Application and data: PHP, MySQL Cloud SQL, Redis Memory Store

• CI/CD and monitoring: CircleCI, Datadog, Better Stack

• Mail and CDN: Dovecot, Postfix, Rspamd, Fastly

• Salary € 5,250 to € 6,750 per month based on 40 hours, plus bonus plan.

Who you are

• Bachelor’s or Master’s level and 5+ years in a comparable platform, infra or SRE role.

• Hands-on owner, strong in Linux, virtualization and reliability.

• Pragmatic and simplicity first. You prefer maintainable over complex solutions.

• Willing to jump in during incidents and help formalize on call.

• 32 to 40 hours per week.
