Your challenge: Make it even easier to start a business

Your role as an AI Engineer is to figure out how we can harness the new wave of AI tools and LLMs to meaningfully improve the customer experience.

One of our most impactful features is the AI-generated website users receive when they sign up. We've proven that this gives them a massive head start and significantly increases their success. You’ll have both the freedom and the responsibility to take our most innovative product feature to the next level. Working at the intersection of creativity, AI research, and product development. What should we build, and how can we prove through A/B testing that it actually makes things better?

What you’ll be doing

• Data-driven validation: You’re the engine behind our AI innovation cycle. You design, plan, and develop challenger versions of our AI-generated websites, with the goal of using A/B tests to prove that your version should replace the current champion.

• Experimental prototyping (within our codebase): You translate your research insights into experimental features, implemented directly within our existing PHP codebase. Depending on the outcome and complexity, you either continue developing the prototype yourself or hand it off - clearly documented - to a fellow developer for production readiness.

• Optimizing user input for AI: You craft the interaction between user and AI, exploring which inputs are essential and how users can guide the generation process. Your focus is on logic and data flow, not visual design.

• Market and tech intelligence: You’re our eyes and ears in the AI space. By keeping up with the latest research papers, breakthroughs, and competitor tools, you spot opportunities and translate them into concrete experiments and product ideas.

• Collaboration: You’ll work closely within our multidisciplinary product team - backend (PHP), frontend developers, designers, and infrastructure specialists - to bring your vision to life and test it in the real world.

Who you are

• You hold a relevant University degree and have a proven ability to approach complex problems in a structured, data-driven way.

• You’re a creative thinker and a builder at heart - someone who enjoys turning abstract ideas into testable experiments.

• You are a strong conceptual programmer. Since you’ll be prototyping within our existing PHP codebase, experience with PHP is a significant plus. The ability to adapt quickly to and work within an existing structure is essential.

• You have hands-on experience with - or a deep, demonstrable interest in - working with LLMs and generative AI.

• You’re driven by autonomy and thrive on taking ownership of the entire research and development process, from hypothesis to A/B test results.

• You’re a strong communicator, capable of clearly presenting your findings to team members across different disciplines.

• You have a Bachelor's (HBO+) work and thinking level.

• You are passionate about technology and smart solutions.

• You have demonstrable experience with, or a deep, demonstrable interest in working with LLMs and generative AI.

• You are available for 32 - 40 hours per week.
