Senior Frontend Engineer

Your role

At JouwWeb (internationally known as Webador), we help small business owners worldwide build a professional website or webshop they are proud of. As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will work on the technical side of our frontend, ensuring our application is ready for the next growth phase.

You will focus on improving our frontend architecture, modernizing legacy code, building new features, and optimizing performance and tooling. You will work in a small, experienced product team where your ideas directly impact the platform, making a difference for over 275,000 users. At JouwWeb, we aim to grow and help 1,000,000 entrepreneurs have a website by 2030. Are you up for the challenge?

Your daily tasks include:

• Improving frontend architecture and cleaning up legacy code

• Building new features in React, (vanilla) TypeScript, and JavaScript

• Profiling and solving performance issues in the browser and UI

• Improving our developer tooling and build pipelines

• Evolving the Editor that allows our customers to design and build their websites

Who are we looking for?

• You have HBO/WO level of education

• You have at least 5 years of experience in developing complex web applications

• You are proficient in TypeScript, React, and HTML/CSS fundamentals

• You have strong communication skills and work well in a hybrid, asynchronous environment

• You are pragmatic, analytical, and think conceptually about architecture

• You are available for 32–40 hours per week

• You identify with our core values
